The Footpace

The footpace in the sanctuary is three tiered, constructed of red oak inlaid in a beautiful pattern. This flooring material was donated by parish friends who rescued it from the wrecking ball.

FOOTPACE

The rear wall has three nicheslet into the wall to hold the icons of the Virgin Mary and the Christ. The center niche contains the hand carved red oak tabernacle and altar cross. The niches are framed and lined in red oak with cantilevered shelves that support the eight service candles. The altar, following the same design as the handrail, tands on four solid red oak turned legs. The altar top made of 2" red oak. The Eucharist candle stands are of red oak turnings topped by 48" brass candleholders. The antique sanctuary lamp holder is gold plated brass and was an anonymous gift by friends of the parish.

For acoustical purposes, the only carpet in the church is a small elegant strip before the altar.

PEWS

The wooden pews were purchased from a church furniture dealer in Waco who had taken them in trade. Each pew had to be disassembled, stripped, sanded and rebuilt. Book holders were fabricated and attached to complete the project. The pews enhance the sense of permanence of the church.
